You can dismiss that sluggishness in your step off on gene pool, since your mother used to complain about the same ache. You can take every vitamin the world the world has to offer. You can even wax and paste the most expensive serums and creams on every inch that is you. But, in the end, you will discover what we all know in our heart is true—if you want to live long and well you must commit your lifestyle to include the two Es. Eat well. Exercise.
And, although in life there are no guarantees, experts say, if you adopt these two healthy pursuits you will enhance your chances of vitality as you reach your 60s, 70s, 80s -- and beyond. This past summer, an enthusiastic group of community residents discovered the benefits of a fun-filled, informative, new health initiative that equipped them with the tools to change their lifestyles.
Later this month, the eight-week program which is held at the Wheeler Creek Community Center, and is sponsored through the Consumer Health Foundation will begin a new class that will provide instruction on the benefits of 1) physical fitness, 2) nutrition education (including classroom instruction was well as grocery shopping), and 3) health screening (such as monitoring weight and blood pressure).
To register for the program, call Mr. Alemayhu Mihret at (202) 574-1508.
